new Ticket emails

Hi All,

I'm having trouble getting new ticket emails to work. Reply notifications work fine. But new ticket alerts aren't.

I'm running OST 1.6 on a minimal install of fedora 17. I have put selinux into permissive mode and created the correct firewall rules. I did a tcpdump and see that smtp traffic happens for ticket replies but not for new tickets.

I'm using the same email setup for both replies and new tickets

Any help would be great!!

I know this is a simple answer, but most things tend to be something basic we overlooked...

Did you turn on "New Ticket" notifications?

Yup, and i tried turning it off, saving the change and on to make sure.

Are you relying on php's mail() function or did you configure the email address to use SMTP? I guess I had the best success when I enabled SMTP on the email address used in osTicket, pointed it to the LAN IP of my MTA (even if it's on the same server). I do allow relaying from 127.0.0.1 and the LAN IP of my osTicket server (one in the same) in my MTA and the tickets have gone out very well.

Yes. I have tried smtp and gmail. The SMTP worked better but neither would send an email about. New alerts.

I have also tried reinstalling and upgrading to 1.7rc2.
