Manually or Automatically?

I had a monthly web hosting account with GoldPuma and it was expired yesterday. Since I'm going to use osTicket for my website I decide to sign up for Bluehost or Hostgator.

Both offer 1-click installer of osTicket via Mojo Marketplace.Now on WebhostingTalk I see some posts

recommending not to use 1-click installers for apps and saying it's likely some

problems happen.According to your experiences, is there any problem with

auto installers? Especially when installing osTicket.

Several people who have used autoinstallers in the past have come here with problems in the past. I have not seen any recently though.My vote: install manually.

When your own/hosted server is configured correctly and pre-requisites are made (like php-imap and so on) osTicket installation is so easy that I second @[deleted] vote - definitely do it manually ;)

As a side note, I think that its a good learning experience to do it manually.

I agree, manual is the only way to go. If you used the automatic "1 click" installer, and later needed support, it would be difficult to support it.Jack

Just for me, I'd try the automatic thing first. If it fails, I'll go with manual. blank
