When using Autocron, staff members activity on the site activates the pop fetch. It works but depends on staff activity on the portal.
I have not tried using a non M$ scheduler. I will look around for one, and just use autocron for now.
Oh. you said autocron, damn I realise now what you were saying... I just though t the windows scheduler required it.
In regards to the "do not edit", my guess is that the developers are onto it... Just don't know when they will let the community know the timeline or todo list they have.
The method I'm thinking of is more of a top and bottom marking, so anything in between the 2 lines of "do not edit" are removed and hopefully whether the mail client emails over or under the previous email doesn't matter too much.
Another method i was thinking was to make it recognise mail headers in emails and remove if possible or a "diff" from the previous message which leaves just the new one.
