Emailing back a customer

Hello I'm new to this and just had my OS ticket installed version.8.1.2 ,server software Microsoft-IIS/7.5, PHP version 5.3.28, MySQL version 5.5.37,

I have tested my email system and I can email out But if I try and close a ticket and respond to the customer they never get an email. I an using POP3 and I have enabled the SMTP settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

G'day,I'm a bit of a newbie but have you tried the test function in osTicket for emails?Login with Admin rights, go to the Admin Panel (if not there already - if you are in it will show the option at the top right to go to Staff Panel) and click on the Email tab.In here there is Diagnostics, but also I believe that when you setup the email settings it tries to successfully utilise the settings that have been entered. Try these two approaches and get back to me. I'm not super clued up but if I can I will help.Steve

Thanks! Steve I tried that before the Diagnostic email works fine I only have problems responding to customers and I'm not sure why.

Oh so you are saying that you reply and check the close ticket box? No email is sent?

Yes that is my problem. I looked all over I think I have it configured correctly.

I don't use IIS so I don't know much more, but is there any log? What about in osTicket itself, there is a log under the Admin panel. Maybe that will shed some light on it.Otherwise ensure the integrity of all files for osTicket.Sorry I can't be of much more help.

Most services (daemons) have their own logs. ie MySQL, PHP, and IIS (or Apache). You should consult them for error messages. Alternatively you can turn on error reporting in osTicket and on screen.http://www.tmib.net/osticket-18x-frequently-asked-questions-faq#3
