italian translation pack broken?

hi guys. I downloaded the latest translation pack for Italian language, but the most part of site is still in English.trying to unpack the phar file (using php command line) I get an error 'PHP Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'PharException' with message 'Extraction from phar "/var/www/html/osticket.vm7.net/web/include/i18n/it.phar" failed: Cannot extract "templates/pages "'if I try to convert to zip/tar (online services) I get a not working archive.any suggestion?thank you,marco

Hi Marco,As is stated almost everywhere: Translation is done in 3 phases. Currently, we're in phase 1: Translate initial data. Full translation will happen in phase 2.that being said: the files downloaded from the edge-download are not the latest build.When translation is done: you do not need to extract the phar files. For now I can only advise you to wait for version 1.9 to be released, where full languagepacks will be available. Please be patient, as this is a major change in osTicket.

Hi evlee, thank you for your replay.I read about translations and steps, and I know I have to put the translation file as it is in its own directory.Anyway I tried to unpack the phar file because I saw inside it the translated phrases for front end, but front end was still in English, and I was wondering about this.I'll wait the next release.bye,marco

I see what you mean. Did you include the PHAR file before you installed/updated osTicket? If so, thus you should have been able to select the installation language. Strings inside the PHAR should then match the version you're running if I'm informed correctley.Hope that helped :-)
