Is there some way to go and view/edit customers and companies in one easy-to-manage CRM-like area? The current way of doing this seems extremely broken to me (having to create a ticket, and edit the user with the little pencil button)
You do not have to create a ticket. You can use an existing ticket.There is no customer ui at this time, it is on the roadmap for inclusion later however.
Thanks a lot for the quick reply. In the same vein, I'm having difficulties when I delete Custom Fields, they don't actually erase from existing companies/clients. Is this a bug?
custom fields data is tied to the ticket that the data is entered for.deleting a custom field from the interface does not remove the data from the ticket.This is by design.So if you accidentally (or on purpose) remove a field say "location". Then later you view historical data in a year from now you will still be able to see the location field that was entered in the ticket when it was opened.
For a ticket, that makes sense. I'm talking about custom field data for a customer or for a company, not for a ticket.
Both data sets use the same logic be it for a ticket or for a client. It does not delete old data when you delete a field.
