Link to an external URL

I need to add a "Remote Support" link to the landing page.

v1.7 allowed external URL href links, but v1.8 add the base website to all links. Demo http://tvems.org/osticket to see the problem.

Can anyone advise on how to fix this?

Go to: Admin panel -> Manage -> Pages -> Landing PagePut the cursor where you want the link to appear.click the link button.type in the FDQN in the URL field.type in the link text in the Text field.Click insert.Click Save.
