Recurring Tasks Scheduler (Cron Job) not working in v 1.8.1

Hi, I had this working in version 1.8.0 and was having no problem with it. I just upgraded to version 1.8.1 and this function has ceased working. I've checked the Cron task and there have been no changes: */5 * * * * /usr/local/bin/php /hw00/d38/soahelp/helpdesk/api/cron.phpPHP vers. 5.4.18MySQL vers. 5.5.18Server software: Server SoftwareApache/2.2.24 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.24 OpenSSL/1.0.0-fips mod_pubcookie/3.3.4a mod_uwa/3.2.1 Phusion_Passenger/3.0.11

Are you getting any errors in your php error log?When I upgraded I had a similar problem because my command line php version was not 5.3+. Do you have more than one version of php installed?

We have a bit of a complicated situation here at the University of Washington. Central IT provides server clusters for departmental, staff, and faculty development use. They all run the same version of PHP and MySQL and we are not able to modify. I will see if I can get access to the php logs though and report back.

Small update - after checking the email account I use for the system, it does look like the delete email action is working but tickets are not being created.

Sorry to fill up this thread, but on further checking the emails are NOT being deleted so it looks fully non-functional at this point. I'm continuing to try some modifications.

Yes, cron.php like the rest of osTicket 1.8+ requires PHP 5.3. It triggers the mail collection so of course emails are not being fetched if its not running properly. With out the errors there isn't much that I can tell you.
