Problem with eMail fetching

Hellowe have problems with the eMail fetching option. I have enabled both options in the osTicket settings:POP/IMAP fetching fetching with auto-cronThe timer is set to 5 minutes. Sometimes this works fine and mails will be fetched every 5 minutes but sometimes it takes hours that mails get fetched.Is there any other setting which have to be activated? Our users send mails to our helpdesk postbox and this postbox is fetched with ostickets. So its important that the fetching is working fine, otherwise the tickets will not be created.we use ubuntu and osticket 1.8.0.2Thanks for help.Greeting

I do not see where you mentioned setting up cron for polling.Please read wiki article at: http://www.osticket.com/wiki/POP3/IMAP_Settings

Hello Steffen,You have to enable CRON job.Set the auto-cron to enable will only check for new tickets when an Admin or a Staff member is working on the system. If nobody logon, it will do absolutely nothing.So firstly, you have to activate the cron job (cron.php) with a scheduled task running on the machine hosting the web site.The Cron job will run as many times as you configure your scheduled task. But do not forget to configure the fetch frequency in Emails > Emails > Youremail@xxx.com
