I'm going to start looking at this soon. But if anyone has already done it, I'd love to know what you did. We are only using about 5 custom 1.7 fields.. And a few config fields. :-) looking to migrate to 1.8.
I plan to create a copy of the database and recreate the forms in an upgraded installation then import the extra ticket fields somehow.
