Too many redirect when Opening osTicket!

Greetings, I've got a problem with the installation/use of osTicket. First i tried to install the latest version 1.8.0.1. As i wanted to open the setup page i got an error : Errorcode: ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTSThe page doesnt open and instead my browser shows this. So i tried to install the version 1.7.3. The setup opens and everything installed fine. After that, i wanted to open the Ticket System (and Admin Panel) and again the same error. Cause i am from germany, i tried the same with the german version of osTicket Version 1.8.0.1. and 1.7.3. On both versions the same error. Also used various Browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox)IIS Log says absolutely nothing about this. Cause im using PLESK i tried to install osticket 1.7.3. via PLESK. And this does work... So if PLESK installs osTicket, something must be different. Any suggestions for this Problem? Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2Plesk for Windows 11.5.30PHP 5.2.17. (Fast CGI Application) (also tried PHP 5.4.23 and as Handler Normal CGI-Apllication and ISAPI Extension)MySQL 5.1.68Thanks and greetings from germany!

osTicket 1.8+ requires PHP 5.3+. I have no idea what is causing the problem that your reporting. Generally errors like that point to something like a https -> http -> https -> http etc or endless loop redirect. This can be caused by a number of server misconfigurations. If you were running Apache I have you look at the .htacess, in IIS I would say check out the web.config files.

I couldnt fix this problem till today. I Used a Header Checker Tool and this is the response : 1. This further information just reinforces my earlier suspicions. Your webserver is answering with a 302 redirect. Since your running IIS I would guess that it is something that is in your web.config file or your using http redirect. Are you using the HTTP Redirct module? Or are you redirecting http to https?

i removed the feature HTTP redirect completely from IIS and the error is the same. I am not redirecting http to https or something. I tried the following : i installed osticket via PLESK and used the web.config file delivered with the working one. And again the Same Problem. (it was the same) I spended hours of mistake searching and cannot find a solution for this problem. i activated ASP.net in PLESK and got this error.http://chuchuva.com/pavel/images/2010/08/asp-net-generic-error.pngAfter i executed the files locale on my maschine the Server gave me an error and says the Problem whould be this line in "web.config" : <sectionGroup name="system.webServer">Configuration ErrorDescription: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately. Parser Error Message: Section or group name 'compression' is already defined. Updates to this may only occur at the configuration level where it is defined.This is the error message i get. tried to remove it many times, rewrite the web.config file in different ways. Nothing seems to work. Now i tried another root Server also with Win 2012 Server R2 and got the same problem...

Have you tried removing the web.config from the osticket directory?

Enter the base url to https://osticket.xxx.xxxnothing help.Checked the Database for entries like http:// - nothing found.osTicket ALWAYS redirect to "http" and i do not know why and where.The Server configuration is OK. Other installations run fine with SSL only osTicket won'tTried other server - same problem. No .htaccess problem or similar.Where is the file that redirects to http?Brgplanincic

Hi All,solved.In the "bootstrap.php" on line 14 the SSL is by default disabled, because API won't work with SSL.Change the $enableSSL to "yes" and the https work fine.Maybe good idea to implement this in config file or administration panel for next versions.Brgplanincic
