Problem installing server on Aruba

Hello everyone,

I downloaded the Italian version of osTicket.

I need to install it on servers Aruba.

The problem is that you can not have write access to "namedomain.it/name/osticket/upload/include/ost-config.php"

I tried to assign 755 permissions to all files and folders, but does not work.

In theory I have to move this file into the folder "\ public" located on the server root, this is the only folder with permissions set to read/write. What files should I modify to make osTicket locate 'ost-config.php "in this folder?

Do you have any other ideas?

I'm not aware of an official Italian version of OSTicket. The only version of OST I see for download is in english. Please contact that forks author for support.

I installed the official version in English, but I have the same problem.

It always appears the error

Unable to open config file for writing. Permission denied

I need to move the file "ost-config.php" in the "\ public" located on the root servers.

What files should I modify to make osTicket locate 'ost-config.php "in this folder?

The use of servers in Aruba are very popular in Italy and perhaps the rest of the world. is a pity not to use these servers osTicket:-(

Sounds to me like you need to change the permissions on the file. I'm not sure why you would want to move it to a /public folder though since it stores your db username and password. The last thing you would want to do is put it in a place where anyone can get to it. It should be in the /include directory.

try chmod 777

Where is what ever you named your OST config file. Which should be one of the following:

/includes/ostconfig.php

/includes/ost-config.php

/includes/settings.php

Once setup has written to the file you should be able to tighten up the security on the file.

Aruba is a provider of Internet services.

In its servers, the only folder writable, is "\ public".

I can not change the permissions of the other folders.

During installation osTicket must write to the configuration file.

I noticed that if insert the whole folder "upload" of osTicket, your installation is working properly.

I think, but I have not tried it yet, you are finished setting up, I can move osTicket where I want seamlessly, or at least I hope.

Now it remains to solve the issue of forced logins by users.

Il mio sito è su server Windows in quanto la maggior parte delle pagine sono sviluppate in ASP e non penso che Linux che interpreti correttamente :(

OsTicket funziona bene anche in Windows ma deve essere installato (almeno nella fase di installazione) sulla cartella public.

Non ho ancora provato a spostarlo su un'altra cartella dopo l'installazione in quanto aspetto di terminare tutte le personalizzazioni.

che io sappia i programmi basati su php su server windows hanno problemi.. usando diversi cms in passato avevo server windows anche io e praticamente era un'odissea farli funzionare, poi sono passato a server linux e tutto va alla grande.

potresi provare se il tuo service provider lo permette avere hosting linux e windows insieme... non so bene come funzioni la cosa ma credo sia fattibile..
