I was wondering when the option would be available to have users sign into a personal account (username and password) and not sign in via email address and ticket number?

The current set up could be a big security hole and as we keep increasing our client base, it becomes less and less secure. This will most likely be a showstopper for us with osTicket if this feature is not available.

I, agree with the fact that unavailability of the user sign in with their username and password can hamper the growth of osTicket. They should definitely do something to rectify this as soon as possible.
