retrieve admin pass word

Hi is there a way to ether reset or go into the server where the os ticket is installed an retrieve the admin pass. we had a tech change the passes and left.

Or will we need to completely reinstall the program.

Hi yes i have full access but am not sure what to put in the Query to reset it

if you go into the database you can promote an existing user to an admin using the ost_staff table and changing the isadmin from a '0' to '1' - im not sure what would happen if you blanked the password field.

This has been covered several time on the forums. :)

Run the following SQL query

UPDATE `ost_staff` SET `passwd` = MD5( 'password' ) WHERE `staff_id`='1';

Obv. replace password with what you want the password to be. If you used a custom prefix other then ost_ then change that too.
