Can't get rid of short_open_tag warning

Hi all,

I have changed the short_open_tag to on in the php.ini located in C:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.21\bin folder. I have also added the line short_open_tag = On in the C:\wamp\bin\php5.3.10 folder because the other short_open_tag (e.g. Development Value: On) appear to be comments - preceded by a semi colon.

However, when I run localhost/osticket/upload/setup I still get the message that I need to turn on short_open_tag in the php.ini file.

Os: windows 7 ultimate 32 bit

No error messages.

Tried running text editor as administrator and re saving the two php.ini files with no affect.

Any help greatly appreciated,

Did you restart the web server after making the change to php.ini?

Thank you very much, Mathman. That seems to have worked. We no longer got the message to change php.ini. Instead, we got a message to change the name of ost-config.sample.php to ost config.php. Once that was done we got into the basic installer.

Interestingly, we had once tried to reboot our machine but it didn't work. However, that was in the midst of playing with the php.ini files. So, I am not sure if short_open_tag changes were correct at that time.

In any event, it works now. Thanks again for your help.
