SMTP Server configurations

Hi,

I have installed OsTicket V1.6 on windows 7 under wamp installation.

I have followed all the steps and most of things are working good.

I can receive tickets on StaffPanel. But when I try to set SMTP server for outgoing but when I enable SMTP and click save it hangs.

I have configured all settings I know but outgoing not working.I have nothing in apache and php logs.

Can anyone help me what I am missing ?

I found a way :)

for outgoing server name , i have used "ssl://mail.myserver.com" and it worked.

now I have problem on linux server, my outgoing is configured but incoming giving "TLS/SSL failure for mail.myserver.com: SSL negotiation failed"

have you cecked the php.ini?

smtp = ip or fdqn

smtp_port = 25 or 587

sendmail_from = whatever@

yes I have checked php.ini and it is seems ok. I have no problem with outgoing email with smtp.

but my pop settings are not working, SSL negotiation failed error received.

Do I have to set smtp, port in osTicket php files too ?

Email works iff SSL port is opened.The main resolution should be php_openssl should be on in wamp and it will work fine.

php_openssl = on

I have verified that open_ssl is enabled , imap and other setting are working too.

I am using xampp on Fedora linux.

my smtp is working now, but when I enable incoming email via pop

it say TLS/SSL negotiation failed , when ssl enable

it say connection timeout when ssl disabled.

I have verified with telnet that mail server is accessible on that host with given port.

I have turned off firewall and set what ever I have found on internet, but failed
