Problems closing the ticket. Try again

I've just moved our OSTicket installation 1.6 to a new server '2008 R2' running apache 2.2, everything works fine apart from closing a ticket, which is when I'm presented with the message 'Problems closing the ticket. Try again'. If I 'close on reply' it fires out the email but fails to close the ticket at all. If I select close ticket from the drop down menu this is when I get the message.

PHP and Apache logs show nothing..

the old server was running 2003 and apache 2.0 & osticket version 1.6

What version of MySQL was the old server running?

(And is this different from the version on the new server?)

Have you looked at the MySQL logs? Those might contain the error and will have the query(s) being used to close the ticket. Then we should be able to copy and paste the query into the MySQL CLI or Workbench and see what the error being thrown is.

Honestly I am surprised that there is no error in the php logs...

I don't seem to be getting any errors reporting back from the MySQL logs either. Is there a way to increase the level or logging?

yes there is a version difference 5.1 on the old server and 5.5 on the new.

below is the only notification returned via the php logs and this is returned during the login process.

Still doesn't work...

As a follow-up things have now changed, situation is now:

'assign to' function was working fine on previous server running windows 2003 with the following app versions:

Apache 2.0.63

PHP 5.2.1

mysql 5.0.51

phpmyadmin 2.11.51

we can close tickets normally when un-modified osticket files are in use, when we install the 'assign to' mod, closing ticket is no longer possible (error message as previously described)

On the new 2008R2 server apps are as follows:

Apache 2.2.21

PHP 5.3.9

mysql 5.5

phpmyadmin 3.2.0.1

we do still see some warnings about deprecated functions when closing the ticket: "Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in D:\vhosts\osticket\include\pear\Mail\mimeDecode.php on line 335"
