Hi to everybody,

First of all, I have experience with php and mysql and for now I am really satisfied by OSticket because it was easy to set it up.

a few days ago I installed OSTicket 1.6.0 on my Windows PC and I also tried to implement the mailing features (if a ticket is created a mail should be generated and forwarded to support@tech.tech for example).

Or if I am chatting with my customer, every comment from me or my customer should be generated as a mail.

Afterwards I wanted to create a email account and to let the OSticket log into this account but without success.

What about this cron job, I have never heared about such a function. So I read a bit about it and as far as I have understood cron job is something which should be set up on my Microsoft Exchange Server which is handling all Mail accounts (the support@tech.tech account). This cron job is referencing on the cron.php file within the OSticket folder in order to create a ticket when a mail arrived at support@tech.tech, isn't it?

Cron is a time-based job scheduler in Unix-like computer operating systems. Cron enables users to schedule jobs (commands or shell scripts) to run periodically.

Since Windows does not have Cron, you have to use the Windows Task Scheduler. The basics are the same. You would setup a task to run the cron.php locally on the web server.

There are numerous posts here on the forums if you search with better information on how to achieve this.

I understood it now, on my Microsoft Exchange Server I should use the Windows Task Scheduler which runs the cron.php script on my OSTicket Server when a email arrived at my certain mail to create a new ticket.

Now I will study a bit the forum ;-)
