Numeric data in Subject can not be Searched?

Hi,

In our System (1.6 ST) we do have Subject combined with Alphanumeric data -

example -

01829 - Dipak Jadhav

Where,

01829 = Case Number

Dipak Jadhav = Client name

But when we search by 01829, we get following two type of errors randomly -

1) Query returned 0 results.

2) Ajax 0 error (specially this error i get when the ticket belongs to Closed Ticket area.. and this error comes in Pop-Up format, when i click to OK button on it. i get above error no. 1)

but if i search with the alphabetical details (like, here, searched by Dipak or Jadhav or complete string Dipak Jadhav) i get the correct expected results.

Please help to tackle this issue.

When you do a search the script checks your input to determine whether it's numerical or alphabetic.

As your entering numbers it performs to numerical query on the database.

If I remember correctly, it only searches the 'ticket ID' when you enter numbers.

Take a look at /include/ajax.tickets.php

You'd need to change this to allow for numbers in your subject searches.

To achieve the Numeric Field in search we need to alter "ajax.tickets.php" file and "include\staff\tickets.inc.php" file also.

I don't think you'd need to change tickets.inc.php, just ajax.tickets.php !!

But I could be wrong.

To let OST search via numeric fields following changes are need to done

a) include\staff\tickets.inc.php

Comment following :

if(is_numeric($searchTerm)){

$qwhere.=" AND ticket.ticketID LIKE '$queryterm%'";

}else

b) include\ajax.tickets.php

Comment following code

if(is_numeric($input)) {

$WHERE=' WHERE ticketID LIKE \''.$input.'%\'';

$ticketid=true;

}else{

$WHERE=' WHERE email LIKE \''.$input.'%\'';

}

add following line before above commented code

if($input!=null)

{

$WHERE=' WHERE ticketID LIKE \''.$input.'%\'|| email LIKE \''.$input.'%\'';

}
