php.ini short_open_tag

Hi,

So I am an newby to osticket and php. I have a Windows XP pc with MySQL 5.5.12, PHP 5.3.6 and IIS 5.1 installed. I need help editing the php.ini file. At the moment when I go to install osticket I see an error saying the "short_open_tag" needs to be set to "on".

My question is:

How do I do this. I found php.ini in C\program Files\PHP and can edit it here.

I have set the folling values:

short _open_tag

Default Value: on

Development Value: on

Production Value: on

So af few hours later and all I did was change the IP address of my XP pc that hold the installation and now it works, oh and a pc reboot. Happy but confused.

What else do I need to do in the php.ini file?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Unless this has changed dramatically between 5.3.3 to 5.3.6 you should open your php.ini (probably located in c:\Program Files\PHP) and add the following line:

short_open_tag = On
