Is there a way to setup or modify osTicket so that New Ticket Alerts contain the %ticket variable? All I get now is the literal text '%ticket' in the subject when I add it in the e-mail template setup.

I wish this was a part of the software. I made a post about this and it looks like it can be done but not without making things more complicated for future updates

Thanks for the reply. Of course, after searching for an answer and finally giving in to making this thread, I found a few similar ones:

(new variable in subject & message body of email response)

(New Message Alert: #%ticket %email)

( Fixed: Staff Email Notifications w/ Ticket Subject and TicketID in Notification Email)

So at this point it looks like it a core code modification unless there is any other suggestions. :
