Tar file corrupted when downloaded

Hi,

I have a problem whereby a tar file that I uploaded to a ticket is being corrupted when downloaded from the ticket.

I have downloaded the file directly from the attachments directory using Filezilla and it is fine, it seems that the osticlket download is somehow corrupting it.

I saw http://osticket.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4955(http://osticket.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4955) and took a look at my osticket.php but cannot see why this might be causing the problem.

Can anybody shed any light on this please?

I can download the file perfectly directly from the attachments folder using filezilla or even via Internet browser, but attachments made by a customer to me or sent from me to the customer are always corrupted.

I wonder if the file download type is wrong - is there some way to change it in osticket to check?

It is not just tar files

I have done further testing - the only filetypes that seem to work are txt and pdf

.jpg - .tar.gz, .zip and .doc are all corrupted.

I've just tried to replicate this and cannot. I just uploaded and attached multiple files and file types (tests included .png, .pdf, .gz, .tar, and .zip).

Have you configured those file types as acceptable files in:

Admin Panel -> Settings -> Attachments

Yes I have all the file types configured and am able to upload all of them perfectly.

The only problem is when I try to download them within OSTicket, the files (apart from .txt and .pdf are all corrupted).

The files themselves are not corrupted - I can download them all perfectly well from the attachments folder using filezilla or even by browsing to the directory within IE or FF.

Somehow the download that is started by clicking the file in OSTicket corrupts it.

Yeah that's how I tried to download them, by clicking on the attachment in the ticket. I did not experience any corruption.

Out of curiosity what OS is your Server and What webserver software are you running?

OSTicket is running on a parallels vps with Centos 5.4 running Apache with php running as FastCGI
