Cannot retrieve email after migrating server

Hi,

We recently migrated our server including OsTicket (1.6 RC4) to a new server running PHP 5.3. I moved the DB updated all the DB strings etc.Our mail server was also moved. So I updated all the logins / passwords / host details for the mail accounts in OsTicket as well.

php-imap is installed and enabled, auto-cron is enabled - I have also setup a cron manually to check every 5 minutes. namely:

*/5 * * * * /usr/bin/php/var/www/vhosts/ourdomain.com/httpdocs/app/webroot/support/api/cron.php

(renamed the domain to ourdomain.com to protect our domain ;) )

However we are still unable to pull emails into OsTicket. I have tested the account settings in Windows Live Mail and Outlook and it definitely works.

I keep getting the following error:

Invalid login

Which pops up next to the password field. I have checked, rechecked, double checked the details in Outlook and Windows Live Mail - but when I enter them into OsTicket it doesn't work.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I don't know if it will help but I would try resetting the password on the mail server, and in OST and see if that helps. I seem to recall a posting here on the forums that says something about how the password is stored breaks it if you move web servers.

Thanks for the suggestion - it didn't work either. I checked out the manual cron and it was popping up some errors.

In light of these errors I have since upgraded to v1.6 ST to check if that would help. It did not, I am about to check if at least the upgrade got rid of the PHP Deprecated issues.

Version 1.6ST will not fix those errors. PHP5.3.x came out after 1.6ST. There are some forums posts if you search here that will at the very least suppress the "PHP Deprecated" warnings.

Sadly I do not believe that those warnings have anything to do with the problem that you are having.

Quite right. It reduced the number of errors. But the root problem still exists.

The plot thickens: I created an email account - tickettest@differentdomain.com - and sent a couple of emails to it. I can access it via an online client service as well as Outlook and Windows Live Mail. It is on a completely separate server with a different hosting company - completely different IP range etc. etc.

I then set it up in OsTicket - I was really expecting it to work - it didn't, which leads me to conclude that there is something really wrong.

Perhaps its a conflict with PHP 5.3 and OsTicket 1.6 ST - I really don't know. Any new light would be welcome

Hi, issueid=177 was already fixed in the version I downloaded and deployed. With regard to John Congdon's patch - I'm really not sure what to do with it?

Even so it looks like its mostly about cleaning inputs etc. and I'm not sure its related to me not being able to connect to mailboxes to retrieve mail.

The one is an Apache server - the other is a MIG server, that's as much as I know. I can find out though.

Quick question - does OsTicket require allow_url_fopen to be active / enabled?

It's disabled on the new server - and that is the only difference between the server builds - other than the fact that we went from php 4 to php 5.3.5.

Also if anyone knows more about patching OsTicket for php 5.3. - as per (http://www.johncongdon.com/patching-osticket-for-php-5-3) I'm not sure what to do with that patch.
