AutoCron does not work!

After trying several times to create a cron event (with no luck) I tried to use the autocron feature.

I have osTicket installed on a different web host and it works fine, however on my hostgator account it says its enabled but doesnt work. Any ideas why?

What version of PHP is running on the working server and what version of PHP is on the "hostgator" server?

I am having no luck importing / fetching messages on my new server which is running PHP 5.3
