MOD-Windows Authentication for users - No login

I have just got our OSTicket system up and running today and would like to make some changes. Our environment uses Active Directory sign ons for everything and requiring the users to use an email address and ticket number to sign in would be different from what they're used to and would actually cause them to use the system less. What I'm proposing is modifying it so it will use the AD username of the current user signed onto the computer to sign them into OSTicket so they can view their tickets or create a ticket. I'm not asking for someone to make the mod for me, but would like some direction to help me on my way.

Currently I have AD auth for the staff but this requires me to add the staff to the system before they can sign in. Possibly modifying the code for this would work?
