next osticket

Hi i was wondering if there was ever going to be a next osticket release or has this project been abandoned... i know people dont like to say if theres a release date or anything but at least someone could say if there is going to be a next version....

because its been almost a year in 20 more days since that last release was.... i thought since then there would have been some more security fixes or somthing sent out but its almost like no one is working on the project no more...

and if there is going to be a next version what would it be 1.7

osTicket development is still very much active.

As for security fixes, to my knowledge, there currently aren't any known security issues. :)

How can we know if the dev is active ?

As far as I know there is no public CVS to test/try the current dev.

I'm currently running version 1.5 and I don't want to upgrade to the last stable version 1.6 since I've translate everything in the source code in my native language. Like Jason, I'm waiting for the next release who will include this kind of feature. But seeing nothing happen for 1 year, I'll probably make up my mind to change the system, which I regret very much because osticket is really an excellent open source product.

I too was wondering what the status of the new version was. I heard such good thinks about new features. :)

OS ticket is the only KISS helpdesk software I know of and I really like it.

yeah it is the best one out there and i have tried allot of different help desk....

but osticket seems not to be releasing any information when the next release is going to be out or anything about it....

and its been a year since they updated there software and i know many people have givin them suggestions on up coming features they would like to see....

and they say theres no security issues that they know of but ive used allot of software like this and they update at least once or twice a year just to fix any security issue....

i just cant wait for the new one to be released to see what new features they might have.

i also use phpbb for my forum and at least they have a roadmap bug tracking system to were u can see the progress of the new version....

I also am very much looking forward to a new release. I am curious as to what new features and improvements will be implemented. I think the software is great as it is, however, I do see plenty of room for improvement. Are there new products in the works? What can we expect to see in the coming future? I am wondering if anyone knows how to set up a (smtp server)? I could really use some help with this. Thank you.
