Picking up mail from Exchange using POP3 fails - sometimes :(

Hi guys!

Very new here at osTicket, installed it yesterday at our IT dept and love it

Only issue we have at this point, is that some of the mails we send to the account is never picked up by osT. But some are ?

We have a internal Exchange 2003 server, I've set up to have osT delete messages when picked up - but at this point only about 50% of the messages are picked up (and then deleted)

What's going on here ?? any one have a clue.

Is there any log files where I can see what's going on ?

That's a little strange, indeed. Do you notice anything in common about the messages that don't get fetched? i.e. do they come from the same address/domain/ip, are they sent by the same email client, do they have an attachment, etc.? Are there addresses that are consistently failing or successfully getting parsed? It might help to compare message headers between one that gets passed through the system properly and one that doesn't.

You could also check your mail server logs, and also the PHP error logs, and see if there's anything in the osticket system logs in the admin panel.

Well, no I dont see anything in common with the messages that are picked up OR those not picked up.

Most messages come from local users a few only from outside. But I've had messages from both sides being picked up and not picked up.

The only thing that I could think of, is that the mailbox is also a shared folder in Outlook - but still, it works sometimes ?

Hmm, strange. Did the logs show any errors? Sadly, i'm not very familiar with Exchange. :( Peter might have some ideas. You may want to (open a support ticket).
