require attachment with new submission

duplicate topic from *mods and customizations, our company would like to use os tickets but really need this attachment field to be required.

does anyone have ideas? thanks for replies,

how can i edit class.ticket.php to accept the attachment field as a required event? it appears different under the fuction create section...please advise. ive edited the open.inc.php file within include/client to make the illusion the field is required, i just cant find it within class.ticket.php -

im almost wondering if i can force the requirement within the dbase itself, i just havent figured out the right attribute yet

I managed to set the attachment field as required following the two steps below:

1) Edit the file "open.php"

On line 23 after

$_POST=$_POST=0;

insert the following:

if(!$_FILES){

$errors='Attachment required';

}

2) Then edit the file "include/client/open.inc.php"

and replace the attachment table row with the following:

<tr>

<th>Attachment:</th>

<td>

<input type="file" name="attachment"><font class="error">* <?=$errors?></font>

</td>

</tr>
