Undefined variable: dblink - Please an assitance

- I installed osTicket1.6 Stable on win server 2003(with MySQL Server 5.1 and php-5.2.14-Win32)

- After finishing first step of configuration including creating database I got this message:

Notice: Undefined variable: dblink in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\support\include\mysql.php on line 28

Notice: Undefined variable: dblink in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\support\include\mysql.php on line 31

Notice: Undefined variable: dblink in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\support\include\mysql.php on line 35

Notice: Undefined index: _staff in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\support\scp\login.php on line 22

After you installed OST1.6 you setup your database and did the

./setup/install.php

right?

If not then you should probably read the installtion instructions at:

(http://osticket.com/wiki/Installation)

If you did, then you might try re-uploading the source. It sounds like it is having a hard time creating a link to the database or the source got munged.

I did run setup/install.php and it created the database tables in mysql.

But now,I got the above mention err.Why??!!

P.S: I read the Installation guide 10 times and more

I tested the connection to the database by phpinfo() and got 'Connected successfully ' on phpinfo.php page.

I will appreciate for any further help

Try this:

Make a backup of include/mysql.php

Now open include/mysql.php in a text editor.

Do a find/replace and change all instances of $$dblink to $dblink.

Try this:

It's not an error, its a Notice. PHP is telling you that a variable is being used that wasn't defined.

You can ignore it or suppress it by changing your logging level in PHP by editing the error_reporting line in your php.ini.

If the error is getting displayed on the screen then you should shut off display_errors in your php.ini. Production machines should not display errors to the screen (aka client).
