Fetch E-Mail from POP Account Problem !

Hi,

I have osTicket 1.6.0 installed but could not save the POP mail configuration but I could save the SMTP configuration. If I try the POP protocol on port 110 and without SSL the following error is displayed (with SSL it also doesnt work):

Invalid login. Check POP settings

Can't login to this server

But I can access this email account by webmail and with the Thunderbird client (same user and password). The Thunderbird uses STARTTLS to initiate a connection but that option does not exist in osTicket. My hosting provider is IX-Webhosting. Does anyone had the same problem and could get it fixed ?

Is your mail server Exchange by chance? Exchange 2008 actually requires by default an SSL connection.

I don't know the type of mailserver (I have to ask the hosting provider: IX-Webhosting), but if I connect via telnet (port 110) I get the following output:

+OK

USER support@pb-helpdesk.com

-ERR authorization first

USER support@pb-helpdesk.com

+OK

PASS secret

+OK

The first time I want to enter the username it never works, maybe that has to do with the problem.

I know it's bad form to dredge up an old thread, but I'm having the same issue with the same hosting provider. I have the correct mail credentials but get the error: Invalid login. Check POP settings. I know my settings are correct and can connect from a telnet client or other mail client. Any ideas?
