error setting up attachments

I just downloaded and installed osTicket. In the post-install setup I am having trouble setting the attachment folder.

No matter what permission settings I use for the folder "attach" I get "Invalid upload dir" and "Directory must be valid and writeable".

In the attachment folder field I type: attach

I also tried /support/attach

Is there another format to type the folder name?

I have used permissions 775, 777, 666 and none work.

I have also tried changing the "support" folder to 775.

I get the error messages every time.

Any suggestions?

You need the absolute path to the directory on the server, not its path relative to the web root.

e.g. /home/BroIgnatius/www/support/attach/

(Note: That's just an example. I have no idea what this path may actually be. It depends on your server's configuration)

I have tried about 10 different variations of folder paths and nothing ever works. This is unbelievably frustrating. Not being able to set up attachments makes this ticket system totally unusable.

Finding server root

PHP has a server variable, echo it to find the root.

echo $_SERVER;

PHP also has a built in function that details its setup, I believe it includes a section on the web server's config which includes the server root.
