Attachments

Hallo,

I'm having the following problem:

I've turned attachments on, now a user wants to upload an attachment, but there happends nothing?

When i'm logged in as admin and go to the ticket, i can upload a attachment and that does word so it has nothing to do with the folder on my server i guess?

Here is a screenshot of my settings:

Anyone who had an solution?

I guess you should try the absolute path of the folder instead of a relative one...

I dont know what you mean? Like http://localhost/osticket(http://localhost/osticket) etc..?

But why is it working as i'm logged in as admin then? Anyway í'm going to try it, thank you.

I'm not sure why it's working for one and not for the other. But you can indeed try to set the path absolute. But that's not http:// etc. etc. An absolute path is something like

/var/www/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/support/scp/ost_attachments/

But this is different for each server. You can get the absolute path easily with phpinfo()

This problem has been driving me insane for 2 days now. If I get it working I'll have to donate some of my adsense $$$ to the creators of this software.

I also faced similiar problem. I not sure how to put the path for attachment folder.

Server Type: Linux, cPanel.

I trying to key in the path of the folder /public_html/support/mailattachment but it not working.

Error Message:

"Web user (e.g apache) must have write access to the folder. Directory must be valid and writeable"

Can anyone advise the correct way to put the path? Thanks.

You must use the full local path to the directory for attachments.

on windows this would be something like:

C:\inetpub\wwwroot\domain\attachments

On Linux this would be something like:

/var/www/domain/attachments

Simply look and see where the folder is located that you want attachments to live in and pretend that you have to navigate to it manually.

Also set permissions to execute that upload folder

To solve this problem, you need to set permissions to execute to the concerned folder where you want to have files uploaded to.

That would depend on the OS. I didn't have to do anything special on our windows server. If I remember correctly I had to do 755 on our Linux box.

775 will work for the permission.

If you are using cPanel, then the proper path is:

/home/YOUR-LOGIN_NAME/public_html/YOUR-SITE-.xxx/attachments

I think most errors where caused by members trying to add something other than the cPanel owner ID. If the program in on your server.

Make changes to the path like ntozier said; Simply look and see where the folder is located that you want attachments to live in and pretend that you have to navigate to it manually.
