Hello,

Our company recently downloaded a version of OSticket from our hosting service.

Version: 1.3.1

I understand that there is a newer verison out as of right now?

Is there ways to upgrade the origional one we have right now with the newer files and not lose any information? IE: Users, Categories, Ban list, Etc?

The only thing you can do is try. Right now there is no upgrade script from older versions such as 1.3.1 to the newer versions. (RC1, RC2 and RC3)

Make sure you backup your site's database and files, and it is recommended that you take the system offline during the upgrade.

Unfortunately you can not upgrade from 1.3 to the latest version due to the DB/code changes. However, you can install the current version and write a small script to migrate the tickets.

I am also in the same situation having previously used 1.3.1.

Can someone post the script that they used to migrate the mysql data to the new database?

Thanks,

John

Has anyone actually written a script to do this?

Could someone perhaps post a solution?

I'm certain there are large number of users who would like to upgrade but, like myself, need to maintain their existing data/tickets without having to maintain two versions.

this would be nice

Considering the RPM still included with Plesk 9.01 still has version 1.3.0 Rel 33 - there will be alot of people needing this script. I am trying to use mysqldiff to line up the fields, but its not an easy go....

Any one got this script working?

It has been over a year since the thread started. Has anyone been able to get a working script written to migrate data from the old 1.3.1 version to the new version? Can any of the site admins help with this? I am sure that there are a number of people in the same boat that are being prevented from upgrading to the latest version because of this issue.
