More email problems.

I'm trying to set up a second osTicket system on a seperate machine.

the first one works without a hitch (rc2)

The new one however is giving me problems. (rc3)

I cannot for the life of me get it to send email alerts like it does on the other osT.

I keep getting this error in the log:

PHP Warning: mail() : SMTP server response: 501 5.1.7 Invalid address in C:\wamp\www\include\class.misc.php on line 74

I have set the correct setting in the php.ini file, enabled imap in the php extensions, and have enabled auto respond in prefs.

all I want is for it to send alerts to staff and customers.

any suggestions?

You are using a Windows server.

IIS 6.0 SMTP service does not like formatting of the "From" field in mail headers. Please see (mail() on php.net) for a detailed description of this problem and a bugfix.

Even though it is not officially supported yet you might want to take a look at (SMTP PhpMailer) for an alternative way of sending SMTP emails.

Well, I am running ost off of a winxp pro machine.

Just like my first ost system which is already running.

it is hooked up to an exchange server (same as the other)

The other has no problems what-so-ever o.0?

I'll have a look at your link, but I would rather not use any 3rd party solutions if possible (it should be, seeing as I have a working osT system running now in the next room, on the same network, using the same exchange server, running the same OS)

Okay, I did the simple bug fix, and indeed it did work.

what I don't understand is why it doesn't work all of a sudden on rc3, when I have another box in the next room running rc2 without a hitch on the same OS, using the same exchange server?
