I get the following dtabase error everytime I attempt to search.
I am using the ST version, which was supposed to offer expanded search capabilities...

I see what the problem is, but I haven't quite sorted out why yet. The left join on the response table is being appended to the query twice. Looking at the search code, I don't really see why this is the case. Have you modified the script in any way? I'll get a stick and keep poking at it. I'll let you know what I come up with anything.
