Attachment option help?

i installed osticket successfully...everything works fine, except the attachment file area. i setup a new folder called "attachments" and i made it 777 so its writable, but i get an error everytime i put in /attachments for the upload folder... it says need valid and writable file...but it is valid and writable... any ideas or documentation on this?

I also tried to setup the attachment option in admin panel and getting the following error "Directory must be valid and writeable". The folder is created with appropriate rights but in vain. Please help me to resolve this issue.

In the admin panel, you need to use the absolute path to the directory, so /attachments won't work. It'll be something like /home/yourusername/www/osticket/attachments .. it varies a bit depending on your host's server configuration.

I'm also having this problem.

my upload dir path is:

\helpdesk\upload\attachments\

"\helpdesk" is located in the root and "\attachments" has 777 permissions.

Are you on a Windows server?

If not, that should be / not \. If so, you're missing a drive letter prefix... actually, in either case, it looks like you're missing part of the path.

Do you have shell access to the site? I seem to recall someone saying that the attachment path really isn't very happy with out the FULL path. For example my windows installation Attachment Folder:

C:\inetpub\support\attachments

You may want to try the full path as well which I would guess is:

/home/USERNAME/public_html/servicedesk/upload/attachments

Had same problem and have now solved it:

Place your "attachments" folder inside the (spc folder) like this: support/spc/attachments this will then be accepted and you will be given the correct addess detail like this:- /home/your-site/public_html/support/scp/attachmants

This will then be an acceptes folder to place the uploaded files...
