Custom field for Inventory

Hello all.

We are happily using osTicket but would like to see if it is possible add a feature.

We are a consultancy firm and are growing exponentially. We would like to add to osTicket the ability to keep track of hardware/software that is deployed/installed for a ticket. All this would need to be is a field similar to Internal Notes. In fact, having it's own tab like notes would be stellar.

I've looked around the forum for such a mod and haven't found one. Is this even possible?

Not sure, but you could certainly use this mod ((link)) for adding your inventory code/serial/ID.

Then you could possibly modify include/client/viewticket.inc.php and include/staff/viewticket.inc.php to present the inventory code/serial/ID as a link back to an asset management software such as Kwok ((link)).

Likewise, you could use one of the new features in Kwok to create a link back to a "search" in osTicket that would list out all tickets (open or closed or both, depending on how you configure it) that contain that Inventory code/serial/ID.
