Basic Installation Problem

Hello,

I was trying to install OSTicket on a Windos XP desktop with WAMP Server.

Apache 2.2.6

PHP 5.2.5

MySql 5.0.45

When i try to start the install i see this screen:

blank

Does anyone what i'm doing wrong?

Enable PHP shorttags in you PHP config (see php.ini file).

This should do the trick.

Im still having this same problem after turning Shorttags on:

short_open_tag = On

any ideas?

IGNORE THIS POST, SORTED MY REMOVING PHP AND REINSTALLING IT.

This solution (short_open_tags = On) did not solve the problem for me. I am still getting that same page that the OP posted when I try to setup. Any other solutions or possible things I am doing wrong? I have reinstalled PHP with no success. Also, I have rebooted the server just to make sure that that wasn't the problem.

Any ideas? Thanks a lot, guys!

Just to be sure, you are still seeing something like <?=$info?> after you turned the short open tags on?

Can you verify with phpinfo() is this option is indeed turned on?

EDIT - Haha. Thanks a lot for the help. I was being an idiot and looking in the PHP.ini documentation at the top of the file and not the actual switch. Thanks a bunch!

EDIT #2 - Now it is looking correct, but when I put all the information in and click "install" It goes to a blank web page and nothing happens.... Sorry to be such a bother.

Edit #3 - Well, looks like I accidentally installed MSSQL and not MySQL support when I installed PHP! So that was my bad. :-/

Now, however, I am getting an invalid SQL syntax error when I try to install. I am using the SQL server root login. I will enable error logging and let you know what that turns up.

Edit #4 - Wooo. Got that issue worked out too! Sorry about the running blog here. Here is how I solved it:

Do you guys ever plan on having a wiki? Assuming that this software works for what I want it to do, I would be up for contributing to it. Just keep me in mind if you ever want contributers!
