Can't enable mail account in settings

Hi all,

I want an email address for customers to send their questions too, so I settup the mail addres (POP enabled) and I entered to account information. Saving settings is going perfect for this, BUT when I set in "Mail Account (Optional)" the status radio button on enabled en press submit I get an error: "error 324" and "net:". When I go back to the mail address page I see that the status of the mail account is still on disabled. Can anyone help me out?

I tried it in IE and Chrome but that doesn't matter.
