Email and Ubuntu

Hello,

I have everything up and running with the exception of email, which seems to be a hot topic on here. I can open new tickets, update, assign, etc...

But emails are NEVER sent out(when opening a new ticket, assinging ticket, etc..).

OSTicket is installed on my Ubuntu 8.10 server. My exchange server is currently EX2003 but will soon be EX2007.

I've tried editing my php.ini to reflect the following:

; For Win32 only.

SMTP =

smtp_port = 25

; For Win32 only.

sendmail_from =

but no go.

Any ideas?

Can you send other messages using php's mail() function? It sounds like a server configuration issue and not an osticket one.

You could always configure osticket to connect to the exchange server directly instead of relying on php's internal mail function.

(personally, I prefer doing it this way, anyway, as php's mail() function has less than stellar error reporting when something does go wrong)
