Hi,
I'm part of a small IT team and yesterday I installed OSTicket for the first time. The installation was done on Linux (CentOS 5.4). After installing the proper PHP & MySQL packages, the installation went smooth!!!! It couldn't be easier! I only had some small issues with email formatting that I quick solved with a patch from Peter here in the forums. After that I spent the a couple of hours performing some tests and everything works!
This is exactly what I wanted: a simple to install, simple to configure, simple to use web-based ticketing system without a gazillion of features! I know there are many people wanting more features and that there's a new version coming out (version 2.0) but for me, and my team, the latest version fulfils all of our needs!
It amazes me that OsTicket isn't more popular. I'm glad I found about it by doing a search on "ticketing systems" on serverfault.com. On my side, you bet I'll be recommending it everywhere.
I just wish you the best in your business plans (paid support etc) and hope you get more help from developers in the near future.
Thanks,
Craconia
