emails are being fetched but no support tickets?

hi I am running the latest release of OS tickect on Ubuntu 9.10

I was battling for the system to pick up the emails and generate ticks from them

until I figured out that you don't use fetchmail to collect the mail it is done using the api in osticket once I removed the fetchmail configuration it was generating the ticket and emailing me back that there is a ticket , etc etc

I deleted the ticket as it was a test , when I tried it again it no longer generated the tickets nor sent emails back?

it is picking up the emails , but I have no idea what its doing with them , i can see this because the mails disspear from my mail server email box for the said email.

Very confusing?

ok after much much pulling hair out , I have got it working

the only thing is that it only seems to fetchmail and create tickets every time i click the submit button in the emails section

I dont undesrtand why it is it only picks up mails when i log in and click the email section then click submit ?

perhaps its something funny on my cron job?

Seems to be a permissions problem with cron.php

I have have changed that the user the cron job runs under has permissions to the cron.php to run it..seems to have fixed this problem

If the permissions of cron.php were wrong you should have received error messages (if the user running the cron job is able to receive message at all).

Your cron job is wrong. You can't just call the script. You have to pass it to the PHP CLI to execute.

Or make it executable and ensure the first line is

#!/usr/bin/php

where /usr/bin/php should be your actual PHP CLI.
