i have my files and everything on my vps, but my mail is handled on my cpanel hosting backup so i have all the mx right and i added the http://www.yourdomain.com/osticket/api/pipe.php(http://www.yourdomain.com/osticket/api/pipe.php) which changes to |/home/username/http:/www.domain.com/tickets/api/pipe.php

i hope thats right but how do i whitelist the ip? do i do it where osticket is? or do i do it where the email is? its all cpanel

You are doing it wrong - you need to pipe to a script (automail.php) locally and it will in turn post it to osTicket. Step by step instructions are here http://osticket.com/wiki/Email_Piping(http://osticket.com/wiki/Email_Piping)

To whitelist your IP go to admin panel -> settings tab -> API.
