ok found the answer in another post same subject...
a db password is encryped for a reason, so if you modify your pw in the database to a text pw it wont work.. so if you forget your admin password or your client forgets theirs just come here and grab this...

copy it and put it in the password field inside the database. look under ost_staff and do a browse and find the account you need to fix the pw, copy the above into the pw field
while your in there you will see a field called change_passwd that is probably set to 0, change it to a 1 (which turns on the auto change pw at login switch)
now save your changes...
then log on to that account using the normal username but the pw will be adermin... (the code above is adermin in hash format) its not a typo for admin ok, it is adermin ...
once your logged on, you will automatically be asked to change your pw since you turned on the switch in your db.. see smart thinken lol... change the pw and your done..
and dont forget the pw again write it down or save it to offline storage right now before you forget too...
