Installed fine.... now what?

OK, I went through the process of installing the software. Everything went fine. I turned off "register_globals," deleted the setup directory, etc - all as it instructed me to.

At first, when I loaded in, the admin control button would take me to a page of options that I could change and save. Now, it takes me to nothing but a "system logs" search function. I need to be able to set up additional users, etc but at the moment I can't seem to do anything.

Everything is working aside from that.. I can create a ticket and read it, etc.

Any ideas? I basically can't do anything in the admin control panel because it doesn't show up anymore. Could it be a chmod setting for a certain file? A file that may be corrupt and needs re-uploaded maybe?

Any ideas would be helpful.

When you log in, do you still get the admin panel link?

Yes, the link is there. If I click on it, it goes to a page with the "system logs" search function, and "All logs" right below it. Theres nothing else on the page.

If it was me, I would start be reuploading all of osticket. Maybe a file was changed that shouldn't have been.

OK.... I tried re-installing just to see what it would do.

Again, the admin panel worked right after install. Then it asked me to delete the setup directory. I did. It then asked me to change the permissions for the config file. I did.

Now the admin control panel is blank again. The link is still there, but none of the options.

Also, I read I should see a "departments" tab under the admin control panel... while it worked, I did not see that tab. I'm also seeing nothing about setting up other users.

I'm following the on screen directions as I install. What could be going wrong here?

So did the admin page go blank after you deleted the setup directory or after you changed permissions of the config file? What did you change the permissions to on the config file?

I deleted the setup directory and changed the permissions back to back, so I didn't think to test it in between.. it was gone after both were done though. I suppose I could try again and test it in between actions.

I tried setting the permissions to 644 or whatever it says to use, and I still got the message telling me to change them. So, I tried 444 and that got rid of the message. Could that be it? Does it need to be able to write to that file? If so, I wonder why it wouldn't let me change it to the suggested settings...

Out of curiosity, I tried changing it back to 644..... the admin panel is still missing, and it gives me the following message.
