E-mails with accents wont fetch

Hello,

Im using the last release of OsTicket. All tables were altered to UTF-8. It fetches e-mails just fine, but when an e-mail has accents, it doesn't fetch, and it stucks the whole mailbox.

ex:

mail 1 - teste

mail 2 - hi

mail 3 - téste (special char)

This cenario will stuck the whole thing, mails 1 and 2 wont get fetched too.

I did try searching tru the UTF-8 fixes and stuff, but my problem seems to be different, it seems like the emails with Accents arent being fetched, now i dont know if the script isnt able to collect data, or when it tries to insert data with special chars in the database it gets a error, but well, this should'nt happen because charset and collation of mysql db is utf-8 (tables too).

Weird.

Any help is welcome - language im trying to set it up is brazilian portuguese.

Additional info:

The problem seems to be only with the subject. The script isnt converting the subject 'tésté' to utf-8 i think. Its failing to insert in the DB then.

Guys, please, if anyone has any clue, i need to get this thing going.

The problem is with the Subject of the email being fetched and only with the subject. I tried imap_utf8 then utf8_decoding it and the special chars turned into ?'s. Exemple: tésté became te?ste? (special char: ´).

Is there anything you guys need me to post here in order to be able to try to help me out?

Any help will be really appreciated.

Fond a partial solution, looking tru mail fetcher classes @ phpClasses.

here is the portion of code on file class.mailfetch:

$var=imap_utf8($mailinfo);

$var=$mailinfo;

$var=$mailinfo?imap_utf8($mailinfo):'';

//I added this - function iconv_mime_decode

$var= iconv_mime_decode($var,0,'UTF-8');

$var=Format:($this->getBody($mid));

$var=$this->getHeader($mid);

$var=$emailid?$emailid:$cfg->getDefaultEmailId(); //ok to default?

$var=$var?$var:$var; //No name? use email

$var=$mailinfo;

Now it translates special chars like this:

áéíóú tésté ç ´´ vamos testar -> AEIOU TESTE C VAMOS TESTAR

Wich is better then ? and got inserted in the DB just fine.

now im looking for a way to translate it completely, will look tru more classes and on Squirrel code (webmail), this one seems to display the data correctly.

Fond the full solution

If anyone is having this same problem, the change i suggested before is invalid, undo it. We have to applu the icon_mime_decode to the subject before, in this part of the code:

//Parse what we need...

'from' =>array('name' =>@$sender->personal,'email' =>strtolower($sender->mailbox).'@'.$sender->host),

//'subject'=>@$headerinfo->subject,

'subject'=>@[deleted]($headerinfo->subject,0,'UTF-8'),

now my emails are getting in the database just fine and displaying with special chars.

Accent characters in e-mail Body ç ã á PT-BR

What did you change to the e-mail body show Ç Á?

I translate the program, and show the Support pages correctly using header: <?header("Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1",true) ;

But the e-mail body don't show "ç á , ã"

I try to change the BD from this:

@[deleted]('SET NAMES "UTF8"');

@[deleted]('SET COLLATION_CONNECTION=utf8_general_ci');

to this:

@[deleted]('SET NAMES "latin1"');

@[deleted]('SET COLLATION_CONNECTION=latin1_swedish_ci');

But didn't work
