Can't disable email alert

I have all email alerts and auto responders disable in the global settings, email address, and department settings. I cannot for the life of me prevent an alert going to the user when I respond to a ticket. All others seem to be OK. Is there something else I need to check?

Ufff, i find another ticket with the same problem as me, but no replies! :(

By default osTicket relies on email to alert the user of the response and can't be disabled.

But you can disable the overall email function no? This should be disabled by removing the tick for :

Enable email piping

but this isnt disabling the email function! All emails are still sent out

(we have never enabled the pop function as we dont use it)

I think the email piping tick is for incoming email only. It surely would be nice to totally disable email notices because I only need this for my own purposes, and really like the interface.

One way around this is to only post internal notes on tickets to which you don't want responses or alerts sent to the end user.
