blank page after install - not installing

I have downloaded the latest OSTicket and have placed all the files in the correct places.

When I navigate to the setup page I enter all the details and press install and I am presented with a pure blank page. Nothing is installed and no errors shown (I have enabled them in the correct file to check).

If it matters I am using mySQL on CentOS 5.3.

I am having a similar problem after installing the RC5 over RC4, I can't see any errors either. I am going to try it on a different server to see if I get the same problem. I had to roll back the original update as we needed to use OSTicket.

Is there an auto-generated error_log file in the setup directory, or any errors listed in the Apache logs?

There was not an "error_log" file in the osticket directory. The hosting (customers choice) unfortunatly does allow access to the error logs.

Hi all,

I am getting the same error using RC5 and Centos 5.2.

No tables are created in the nomiated DB either.

No errors in the Apache log either

Any ideas?

I have solved the issue.

Need to install PHP-mysql extension

Go to terminal and run yum install php-mysql. Reload apache and mysql.

Also I had to give my DB user more access than just Create Alter and Drop. I ended up giving him All access.

Glad you fixed it, for myself that won't help, I don't think 1and1 will re-install things, strange it should work fine on RC4 though.

1 and 1 will help you understand why this isn't working.

Can i ask what hosting package you have with them? Not all support databases or php.

This problem also occurred for me before installing the php-mysql connector. Once this was installed all worked fine.

We have PHP & My Sql support in the package, the previous release candidate RC4 is working fine on the same hosting at 1&1, but when we try and install RC5 we just get the blank screen.

my problem was the same (with 1.6 RC5) , and I solved it :

(on debian)

#apt-get install php5-mysql

#/etc/init.d/apache2 restart

How do you guys install php-mysql connector? I already have PHP 4, Mysql 5 installed on my Redhat.

Had also made sure that the 'short_open_tag' is set to On.

But I am still having the blank page issue.

Had spent almost entire day scouring through the net but can't seems to find answers. I am unable to find the php-mysql connector for downloading.

From this link < http://dev.mysql.com/downloads(http://dev.mysql.com/downloads) >, there does not seem to have a php-mysql connector available for download anymore.

Any ideas?

Same issue here.

Tried to update the *very* bottom of the Wiki page:

Can't seem to login. Does somebody else want to edit that? Or at least mention that php5-mysql (or php-mysql depending on your distro) is a requirement?

i finally figured it out. I just reinstalled php-mysql and its dependency - php-pdo. it's working now. thanks.
