Due Date for tickets?

I upgraded to the latest version of osticket and i am confused as to what's the due date for? And how is the format of a due date suppose to look like.

Also, if the ticket is due by a certain date/time, for instance I set a due date of 07/29/2009 at 11 AM, but haven't gotten an overdo reminder.

Are these reminders suppose to be setup via cron?

And if so, what syntax doI use to setup the cron job?

Hey,

In the Admin section > Settings have you changed the "Ticket Grace Period" from 0 as 0 disables aging of the tickets and essentially renders the "Overdue" pointless.

What do you mean by: "i am confused as to what's the due date for? And how is the format of a due date suppose to look like." (Sorry just don't understand the question)

There is also a setting for an alert to be sent out if the ticket is still open after the due date is passed.

I use it for a rough estimate. Like, I want this ticket closed by noon tomorrow. So I set the due date to that. Then, if I dont get around to it or forget about it, I get a reminder after noon.
