Can't get past basic installation

I've uploaded the files appropriately, and accessed the setup page, but nothing happens when I click the install button.

Each of the input fields contains the form: <?=$info?>

Do I replace the entire string, or just title in this case?

Also, if I type a bad entry for one of the required fields, does the entire form get refreshed? If so, I can't tell which entry is bad. I'm having trouble with the MySQL entries, but I want to make sure there's nothing else wrong first.

it would appear to me that the host does not support PHP - and it showing the html portion of the page.

Are you using a host or a local server? What Operating System?

I'm working on a Widows Server 2003 box, and it is set up with PHP, but I agree, that it doesn't appear to be activating it correctly.

This is a host server, but I have VNC access to it if I need to change something with the PHP setup.

You need to turn PHP short tags on. You may have to contact your hosting/server company if you don't have access to php.ini and have them enable short tags.

You can add a .htaccess file with the following line:

php_flag short_open_tag on

to you root dir and see if that works. Otherwise you will need to contact them.

PHP short tags will be removed in future osTicket releases.

Thanks for that. I placed the .htaccess file in the root directory, and set the short_open_tag = on in the php.ini file.

Refreshing the page doesn't give me anything new. Should I restart services or something?

This is also happened to me. The solution that I made was: replace short tag <? with <?php and replace <?= with <?php echo.

I spent my two days to complete this task for all files in osTicket. Doh... : LoL.
